Cost wise, I think the two Canons would run $250—$300 combined while the Canon 18–135mm is $320 new on EBay and the Tamron is $450 new from authorized dealer right now with $150 mail-in rebate and $30 retailer discount. I am leaning towards the Tamron just because I don’t want to have to even think about changing lenses right now.

Canon 18-200 vs Sigma 18-200 vs Tamron 18-270. Been running round in circles.Decided to buy a 18-200mm as a main walkaround lens for my canon 60D. Instinct says to stick with Canon for quality and reliability. But the price difference is massive and as I will be backpacking through India in a few weeks, extra cash would be great. But I hope to make a career out of photography one day so I am willing to invest. But is it really worth it? the Sigma and Tamron look good too. I could also opt for a refurbished Canon but is that a bad idea? I feel like the more forums and reviews I read the more lost I become. What do you guys think? What are your experiences with Sigma and Tamron? HEELP!
